Anca Rarău


Anca’s professional experience stretches over 20 years of working in brand positioning, strategic and operational marketing, customer experience, employer branding, research, and PR. She coordinated and implemented notable projects both as manager in large companies, and as entrepreneur.

In 2017, Anca entered entrepreneurship and launched BRANDOCRACY – the concept that brings a new, integrated method to brand building and positioning. As an entrepreneur, she worked with brands from various industries: medical, constructions, IT, financial services, legal, education, HoReCa, architecture, logistics, industrial production, furniture, pharmaceuticals, media, and culture. She also works on special projects regarding personal branding. In 2021, Anca was nominated for the Business Review Awards as one of the five finalists for the Entrepreneur of the Year in Romania distinction.

Before starting her own consultancy business, she was head of the marketing teams in two of Romania’s top banks: Banca Transilvania and BCR/ Erste Group. As Marketing Director, she coordinated and launched brands and projects of national and European relevance. Among her marketing activities in the financial industry, she was part of several special projects, each with its distinctive marketing approach. To give some relevant examples, she coordinated and implemented marketing projects related to financial services for the medical division, created and delivered special workshops dedicated to startups and entrepreneurial people, got involved in building digital platforms, or conducted corporate social responsibility campaigns. Anca has also played a key role in preparing the marketing documentation for the listing, for the very first time, of a bank on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Throughout her career, together with her marketing teams, Anca has won several awards for the efficiency of the marketing campaigns (Effie Awards), as well as for Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility projects.

Anca is an active member of Romania Business Leaders,  engaging her professional expertise and knowledge to help develop the business environment and various communities. In 2017 she was one of the founders of the first Romanian Business Leaders branch outside Bucharest – RBL Cluj. As a local leader of the VSFA (Vreau Să Fiu Antreprenor) project, she got actively involved in the national program for educating young entrepreneurs.

Anca Rarău’s career and experience rely on a strong academic background.  She has graduated from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Science, specialized in Management. She has a Master’s Degree from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. She also graduated from the Executive MBA program of CNAM Paris.
